With respect to addressing spoofing, where scammers are claiming to be from the club association, this TELUS support page: report channels for various scams and problems. One strategy that can help is having unified communication with membership on the administration’s authorized communication channels. For example, “We will only contact members from *email*, *phone #*, etc.”, and any specific recommendations you may want to make should members receive suspicious communication.
