Excellence Ringette Program Head Coaches

2020-2021 Season

Ringette BC is thrilled to announce the appointment of the Excellence Ringette Program Head Coaches.

Excellence Head Coaches will work directly with the Excellence Ringette Program Coordinator and the Technical Director to develop the Excellence Ringette Program content, while overseeing and supporting the Excellence Coaches, Goaltending Coach, and Apprentice Coaches. Head Coaches will lead content, provide support to other coaches in the program, and provide leadership to the athletes and coaches. Head Coaches will collaborate with the Integrated Support Team to build the Excellence Ringette Program, meeting the needs of the athletes as they develop over time.

Peter brings elite coaching experience from multiple sports to the Excellence Ringette program, with a desire to be a part of a Program that contributes to the development of high performance athletes and ringette teams in BC. He is dedicated to ensuring that every athlete has a positive experience, develops their athletic abilities, and develops as a well-rounded individual. He emphasizes commitment, hard work, mental toughness, respect, sportsmanship, integrity, honesty, fair play, inclusion and shared leadership, as the most important values of a successful high performance athlete, coach, program or team. Peter continues to seek out development and learning opportunities as a coach, while utilizing his strengths, experience and leadership to support his athletes and coaching team.

Dani Brassington

Dani Brassington

Head Coach

Dani brings over 20 years of high level ringette experience as an A, AA and NRL level athlete. She has worked with AA athletes as a variety of age levels. Dani has coached at the BC Winter Games, in the National Ringette League, and was the Assistant Coach of Team BC at the 2019 Canada Winter Games where BC finished fourth overall. Dani is excited to be a part of building and executing a comprehensive program that will give BC athletes the physical, mental and tactical abilities to succeed at their high performance goals. She hopes to instill a passion for the sport and a habit of pursuing excellence in the players, building a cohort of athletes who will continue to grow and elevate their love for the game of ringette for many seasons to come.

Rod Needham

Head Coach

Rod has coached ringette at almost every level, and has enjoyed collaborating and learning from some of the top coaches BC has to offer. He prides himself on being a student of the game, who is constantly watching and learning about high performance ringette, and how to engage and train athletes to support them in pursuing their personal and team goals. Rod’s personal goal is to collaborate with the team of Excellence Ringette coaches to help design and implement a program that provides a stimulating, rewarding experience that keeps athletes engaged in the program. With his fellow coaches he hopes to help Ringette BC create the strongest possible high performance program that showcases the amazing athletes in our province at the National level.
