Congratulations to the each of the Zone Head Coaches that have been selected for their Zone Team for the 2018 BC Winter Games in Kamloops!

February 22 – 25, 2018

Location: Kamloops
Venue: McArthur Island Sport Centre – NHL Ice
Age Division: U15 (13 or 14 years of age as of December 31, 2017)

  • Coach Credentials

    Coach Credentials for 2018 BC Winter Games

    All BC Winter Games Zone Teams must declare ONE HEAD COACH. Bench staff can include a Maximum of three staff. Additional staff include one to two Assistant Coaches. All bench staff must be the credentials listed below.
    Additional criteria for bench staff:
    – One Coach MUST be female
    – Coaching staff must reflect the gender equity of the team. Teams can select a male coach even if all athletes on the team are female, but additional staff must be female.

    Certification Levels

      • Head Coaches MUST be Competition Introduction (CI) certified by November 15, 2017
      • Assistant Coaches MUST be CI Trained by November 15, 2017
      • All Bench Staff must have:
        • Making Ethical Decisions module and MED Evaluation in the CI course.
        • Prevention in Motion, Respect in Sport, or equivalent
        • Concussion Training such as: Making Headway OR Concussion Awareness Training
        • Criminal Record Check
    • Coaches do not have to meet the certification level listed above in order to apply; however, if a coach has not completed the certification levels necessary by the deadlines listed they will be removed from their position.
    • Apprentice coaches should be applying to the BC Winter Games mentorship program.
